BASIC FUNCTION

The Talent Development Associate is responsible for recruiting outstanding teachers, leaders, and classified staff and supporting them through their early employee development experiences. Under the supervision of the Director of Talent Development, this role partners with cross-functional HR team members to support a network of schools or central office functions.

The Talent Development Associate oversees recruitment, selection, and placement, and manages orientation, onboarding, and induction programs for early career staff.

This role maintains strict confidentiality of all personnel matters, including sensitive employee relations information.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Recruitment, Screening and Placement

  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies to attract both active and passive candidates, building diverse talent pipelines.
  • Build and maintain relationships with colleges, universities, and professional organizations to generate qualified candidates.
  • Support pipeline programs that bring educators and fellows into the organization.
  • Create recruitment marketing strategies using online platforms and outreach initiatives.
  • Design and implement selection processes to identify top candidates.
  • Coordinate pre-employment screening, candidate communication, and hiring compliance.
  • Partner with hiring managers and interview panels throughout the selection process.
  • Manage candidate communication in a timely and professional manner.
  • Coordinate placement of student teachers and program participants from partner institutions.
  • Post job openings across multiple platforms (e.g., EdJoin, universities, job boards, professional associations).

 

Talent Development & Onboarding

  • Plan and facilitate new hire orientation and onboarding programs.
  • Oversee induction and mentoring programs, including matching new hires with coaches/mentors.
  • Develop and deliver training, coaching, and professional development programs for early career staff.
  • Support coaching programs, feedback processes, and performance development initiatives.
  • Partner with academic institutions to support practicum and internship experiences.
  • Assist with intern program design and training initiatives.
  • Manage support programs for new and probationary employees.

 

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with HR, staffing, and operational teams to support workforce planning and hiring needs.
  • Maintain accurate records across the full employee lifecycle to ensure compliance and data integrity.
  • Provide training to hiring managers on best practices in recruitment, selection, and onboarding.
  • Support planning and execution of talent-related events and initiatives.



Qualifications:

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, or a related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in education, nonprofit, or similar mission-driven environments
  • Prior experience in recruiting or talent acquisition preferred

Other Requirements:


  • Ability to pass standard employment clearances (e.g., background check, TB test)

  • Best practices in recruitment, sourcing, interviewing, and talent selection
  • Knowledge of employment laTalews and labor relations principles
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to work effectively in diverse environments
  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HR systems

 


Compensation

$27.00-$32.00 Hourly
