Accounting Manager

We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to support core accounting operations for a Contract position based in Menlo Park, California. This role is ideal for a hands-on, detail-oriented individual who can oversee accurate financial reporting, maintain strong general ledger integrity, and guide the monthly close process from start to finish. The successful candidate will partner across accounting activities to ensure reconciliations, journal entries, and audit support are completed with precision and timeliness.

Responsibilities:
• Lead the full monthly close cycle, ensuring deadlines are met and financial data is complete and accurate.
• Manage general ledger activity and review accounting records to maintain consistency with company policies and reporting standards.
• Prepare, review, and post journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation and clear audit trails.
• Perform detailed account reconciliations, investigate variances, and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Support financial statement audit activities by organizing schedules, responding to auditor requests, and validating underlying records.
• Contribute directly to day-to-day operational accounting tasks while improving accuracy and efficiency across processes.
• Analyze accounting results and identify issues that could affect period-end reporting or compliance requirements.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of accounting experience, including responsibility for month-end close and general ledger management.

• Strong background in account reconciliations, journal entry preparation, and hands-on operational accounting work.

• Experience supporting financial statement audits and preparing documentation for internal or external review.

• Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting practices.

• Ability to work independently in a Contract role while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.

• High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Compensation

$66.50-$77.00 Hourly
