Accounts Payable Specialist

Our client is a growing mid-sized organization seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join their accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys working in a collaborative environment, managing high-volume transactions, and contributing to the overall efficiency of the finance department.

The ideal candidate will be organized, proactive, and capable of handling multiple priorities while maintaining a high degree of accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Process high-volume invoices accurately and efficiently
• Perform three-way matching of invoices, purchase orders, and receiving documentation
• Review, verify, and code invoices for payment
• Prepare and process check runs, ACH payments, and wire transfers
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
• Maintain vendor records and supporting documentation
• Respond to vendor inquiries regarding payment status
• Assist with month-end close and account reconciliations
• Ensure compliance with company policies and internal controls
• Collaborate with purchasing, operations, and accounting teams to resolve invoice and payment issues
• Support process improvement initiatives within the accounts payable function

Qualifications:

Qualifications

• 2+ years of Accounts Payable experience
• Experience processing high-volume invoices
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs
• Experience working with ERP or accounting systems
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to prioritize competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
