Staff Accountant

We are looking for a Staff Accountant to join a growing team. This role is well suited to an accounting candidate with early-career experience in a private company environment who is eager to build strong fundamentals across close activities, financial reporting, and general ledger support. The position offers the opportunity to contribute to core accounting operations while partnering with senior finance leadership in a hands-on setting.

Responsibilities:
• Support the monthly close cycle by preparing entries, reconciling accounts, and helping maintain accurate financial records.
• Assist with the preparation of consolidated financial information and contribute to the creation of timely internal and external financial statements.
• Maintain the general ledger by reviewing activity, researching discrepancies, and ensuring transactions are recorded properly.
• Prepare and post journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation and follow-through on outstanding items.
• Help manage corporate and sales tax-related accounting tasks, including gathering data needed for filings and return preparation.
• Work closely with the Controller and Senior Accountant to strengthen day-to-day accounting processes and reporting accuracy.
• Contribute to accounting support for businesses in manufacturing or construction environments when applicable.
• Participate in finance-related process updates or system-related accounting activities as assigned within the department.

Qualifications:

• At least 1 year of accounting experience, preferably in a private company setting rather than public accounting audit or tax.
• Working knowledge of month-end close procedures, journal entries, and general ledger accounting.
• Experience assisting with financial statement preparation and account reconciliations.
• Familiarity with corporate tax, sales tax, and support for corporate tax return processes.
• Ability to analyze accounting data carefully and resolve issues with a high level of accuracy.
• Exposure to consolidations is preferred.
• Experience in manufacturing and/or construction accounting is a plus.

Compensation

$75,000.00-$85,000.00 Yearly
