Mailroom Assistant
Responsibilities:
• Receive, sort, and open incoming mail to prepare materials for timely processing.
• Organize documents and information in alphabetical and other required filing systems to support efficient retrieval.
• Operate scanners and printing equipment to digitize, reproduce, and prepare large batches of materials.
• Assist with assembling, packaging, and mailing assessment answer sheets and related documents to schools.
• Enter and verify basic information in tracking systems, logs, or databases with attention to accuracy.
• Use email and written notes to communicate updates, document progress, and maintain clear records.
• File paper records and maintain orderly storage of physical documents and work materials.
• Support team-based mail intake and processing activities while meeting established turnaround times and deadlines.
• Lift, move, and transport paper supplies, packages, and document stacks throughout the work area as needed.
Qualifications:
• Previous experience in a mailroom, document processing, or administrative support environment is preferred.• Ability to use scanning devices, printers, and other standard office equipment with minimal supervision.
• Basic computer skills, including data entry, information lookup, and email communication.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to keep records accurate and well organized.
• Capacity to work at a consistent pace in a deadline-driven setting with repetitive manual tasks.
• Ability to stand, walk, lift, and move reams of paper, boxes, and stacks of documents throughout the day.
• Reliable transportation is required, as the Albany, New York worksite is not directly accessible by bus.
• Familiarity with assessment-related materials is helpful but not required, and training will be provided.
Compensation
