Accounting Manager/Supervisor

Compensation: $115 to $130 Yearly

We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager/Supervisor to oversee core accounting operations and support accurate, timely financial management for a college environment. This role will guide day-to-day accounting activities, strengthen financial controls, and help ensure compliance with reporting and audit requirements. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge, leadership experience, and the ability to deliver thoughtful analysis in a collaborative finance setting.

Responsibilities:
• Provide direction, mentorship, and daily oversight to accounting team members to support high-quality work and role-specific growth.
• Manage preparation for the annual financial audit, serving as a central point of coordination for schedules, documentation, and auditor requests.
• Review and finalize balance sheet reconciliations to confirm accuracy, resolve discrepancies, and maintain reliable financial records.
• Oversee accounts payable operations and cash management activities, including check processing and monitoring multiple cash accounts.
• Ensure state sales tax transactions are recorded correctly and filings are completed on time in accordance with applicable regulations.
• Support month-end close by reviewing journal entries, general ledger activity, and related accounting documentation for completeness and accuracy.
• Prepare financial reports and respond to requests for ad hoc analysis to assist leadership with planning and decision-making.
• Foster a finance culture centered on accountability, open communication, teamwork, and service excellence.

Qualifications:

• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including responsibility for financial oversight and team leadership.
• Demonstrated background in month-end close processes, general ledger management, and journal entry review.
• Experience coordinating financial statement audits and working with external auditors.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, account reconciliation practices, and internal controls.
• Hands-on experience managing accounts payable and cash-related accounting functions.
• Familiarity with sales tax accounting and filing requirements.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities effectively.

Compensation

$115,000.00-$130,000.00 Yearly
