Payroll Analyst
Responsibilities:
• Manage full payroll processing activities in Workday from data review through final validation, ensuring employees are paid correctly and on schedule in accordance with applicable regulations.
• Maintain payroll system setup by updating earning codes, deductions, tax settings, and workflow rules to reflect policy requirements and legal standards.
• Conduct regular audits and reconciliations to identify discrepancies, investigate root causes, and correct payroll data issues in a timely manner.
• Oversee payroll-related data interfaces, external file exchanges, and system updates to help ensure dependable information flow between platforms and vendors.
• Prepare recurring and ad hoc reports, metrics, and payroll analysis to support planning, compliance, and business decision-making for internal stakeholders.
• Assist with year-end payroll activities, system enhancements, and platform release testing by validating changes and confirming readiness for deployment.
• Partner with HR, Finance, Benefits, IT, and third-party providers to address payroll questions, improve processes, and enhance system effectiveness.
• Provide operational support during Workday implementation efforts and post-launch stabilization by helping resolve payroll-related issues and validating results.
Qualifications:
• Experience processing payroll in a multi-state environment with a strong understanding of payroll operations and compliance requirements.• Knowledge of payroll tax practices and reporting obligations at the federal, state, and local levels.
• Hands-on experience with Workday payroll functionality, including payroll processing, configuration support, and reporting.
• Background using enterprise HRIS or payroll systems such as PeopleSoft in addition to Workday.
• Ability to perform biweekly payroll processing with a high degree of accuracy, organization, and confidentiality.
• Strong analytical and reconciliation skills with the ability to investigate discrepancies and resolve payroll issues effectively.
• Proficiency in collaborating across departments and communicating clearly with internal teams and external partners.
