About Us

The Division of Endocrinology and Diabetes is a vibrant unit with over 50 full-time faculty engaged in research, education and clinical care. Research activities are focused on the study of diabetes and metabolism, aging, adipose tissue, bone and mineral metabolism, weight management, adrenal and thyroid disease. Members of the Division of Endocrinology are extensively involved and play leadership roles in our NIH-funded research centers: the New York Regional Diabetes Research Center and the Center for Diabetes Translation Research. The Division provides endocrinology inpatient and outpatient care at Montefiore Medical Center, Jacobi Medical Center and affiliated hospitals and maintains an outstanding endocrinology clinical fellowship and postdoctoral program.



POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The position will focus on coordination of clinical operations, site management and monitoring activities required to initiate, monitor and complete clinical programs at the clinical trial site level.

  • Mentor and supervise study coordinators, student researchers, and volunteers;
  • Manage all Institutional Review Board (IRB)-related activities;
  • Oversee adherence to research protocols in obtaining informed consent, sample acquisition and testing, data collection and management and participant confidentiality;
  • Ensure timely submission of case report forms, reporting of adverse events, etc. to appropriate internal departments and external agencies and follow-up with these groups to ensure that all files are complete;
  • Management of participant recruitment, tracking, and follow-up;
  • Oversight and management of data collection, analysis and cleaning; perform regular audits to ensure that the data collected are complete and accurate, and that the research is being conducted as outlined in the protocol;
  • Prepare for and participate in internal audit committee of clinical studies as well as external audits by federal agencies and pharmaceutical companies;
  • Maintain records of study incentives, subject honoraria, and travel reimbursements; facilitate other study-related financial transactions;
  • Work with PI and research team to refine and finalize research protocols, assist with creation of standard operating study procedures when needed, draft study questionnaires and data collection tools;
  • Provide regular data reports to investigators and assist with preparation of annual reports;
  • Independently oversee all aspects of project implementation, including expense reviews, regulatory, personnel, and data management;
  • Attending internal and external meetings related to conduct of studies, such as investigator meetings or study sponsor events as needed. Act as a liaison to project partners to discuss and implement new procedures;


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Clinical epidemiology, or related field is required with 3+ years of experience. Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Demonstrated working experience collecting data for research (e.g. recruitment, collecting interviews, extracting medical records, literature searches, and data analysis) is required;
  • Demonstrated experience working with a similar study population.
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred

Minimum Salary Range:
USD $67,000.00/Yr.

Maximum Salary Range:
USD $72,000.00/Yr.
