Senior System Administrator
The System Administrator reports to the JEDD Project Manager and receives work direction derivatives from the Communications and Information Systems Lead.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide system administration and engineering support for JEDD, including planning, installation, configuration, operation, security, and maintenance supporting daily operations and exercises.
Manage service tickets and work actions within the Marine Corps ERIS (Remedy) system.
Configure, deploy, troubleshoot, and maintain enterprise services and provide Tier 2 support for JEDD user accounts, workstations, system access, imaging, and computer assets across MCEN, coalition, and joint networks.
Perform biweekly updates, checks, and functional testing of UC services and equipment in accordance with ECSM requirements, and report system and server health metrics, including response times, availability, and uptime for servers, systems, and applications.
Conduct pre-event testing to resolve system issues and optimize system performance.
Perform daily administration and monitor physical and virtual operating systems, directory services, file structures, software distribution, client management, and system security.
Create, manage, and monitor Microsoft Exchange mailboxes for JEDD users, joint forces, and coalition partners to support daily operations and training events.
Install, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot classified infrastructure components, including server hardware, chassis systems, storage arrays, rack mounted equipment, Windows Server environments, and Red Hat Linux environments.
Review and validate service-related reports (e.g., backups, maintenance logs, monitoring alerts) daily to ensure timely identification and remediation of system issues.
Troubleshoot and maintain enterprise storage area network (SAN) systems.
Ensure compliance with DoD, Joint, Service, and JEDD cybersecurity requirements, including patch management, system hardening, and vulnerability mitigation.
Maintain system inventories, configuration baselines, assets, and lifecycle documentation.
EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree from accredited University; or
CNSSI 4012/4013/4014/4015/4016; or
Associates degree and 10 years of experience.
Required Certifications and/or Training is as follows:
- IAT-2 Certifications: GSEC, Security+ CE, SSCP, CCNA-Security.
- IAM-2 Certifications: CAP, GSLC, CISM, CASP-CE, CISSP (or Associate).
- Cyber Defense: CEH, GCIA, CSIH, GCIH
- Operating System/Computing Environment Certificate for applicable systems (with Privileged Access).
- Operating System/Computing Environment (OS/CE) certificate of training.
EXPERIENCE
5-9 years of experience in cybersecurity or related field.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project, and SharePoint.
Strong communication and presentation skills. Able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English. Able to design and write clear communications and present training programs.
Excellent organizational, planning, problem-solving, prioritization, interpersonal skills, and able to instinctively adapt, plan, inform and influence.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Required to sit for extended periods of time and maintain focus
Daily travel in local area during workday (including use of personal vehicle)
Be able to work an unstable schedule, to include holidays and weekends.
SPECIAL POSITION NOTATIONS
CONUS and OCONUS travel may be required for up to three weeks at a time (or longer).
Qualification as an authorized company driver is required. All authorized company drivers must have a valid driver's license, current automobile insurance, and a driving record that is acceptable to the company's auto insurance provider.
