Terminologist
The Terminologist reports to and receives work direction derivatives from the JEDD Project Manager, the Doctrine Analyst, and the Senior Doctrine Analyst.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain and synchronize the official DoD Dictionary of Military and Associated Terms and related publications to ensure consistency with approved terminology.
Monitor and apply changes to the DoD Dictionary, facilitating the process for incorporating new or updated terms and definitions into active publications.
Support doctrine development by tracking documents through the drafting, coordination, and approval lifecycle, ensuring terminology aligns with joint doctrine.
Conduct quality control checks to prevent “doctrinal drift” between Service-level and Joint-level publications.
Draft correspondence, manage publication tracking, and prepare briefing materials using MS Office tools
EDUCATION
Associate degree or equivalent in Business Management; Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related disciplines is preferred.
High School degree with 3 years of experience with the tasks within the Experience section is also acceptable.
EXPERIENCE
Demonstrated success in two (2) or more of the following areas:
Familiarity with terms in the DoD Dictionary and process for incorporating approved terminology changes.
Familiarity with doctrine development and publication processes.
Experience ensuring consistency of data between related documents.
Experience with Excel, MS Word, Power Point.

WORKING CONDITIONS
Required to sit for extended periods of time and maintain focus
Daily travel in local area during workday (including use of personal vehicle)
Be able to work an unstable schedule, to include holidays and weekends.
SPECIAL POSITION NOTATIONS
CONUS and OCONUS travel may be required for up to three weeks at a time (or longer)
Qualification as an authorized company driver is required. All authorized company drivers must have a valid driver's license, current automobile insurance, and a driving record that is acceptable to the company's auto insurance provider.
SECURITY CLEARANCE
A Secret security clearance is required for this position.
The ability to obtain a Top-Secret security clearance is required for this position.
