Ophthalmology Dept Lbk Genl
Major/Essential Functions
- Provides administrative support to the Residency Program Director and other assigned faculty, including but not limited to:
- Maintaining calendars, coordinating meetings, handling travel arrangements, applications, and vouchers.
- Completing credentialing packets for hospital appointments.
- Handling correspondence, ensuring curriculum vitae are up to date and entered into the Digital Measures system.
- Assisting with editing and submitting grants, abstracts, and journals as needed; and ensuring faculty licenses and certifications are up to date.
- Prepares reports, evaluations, and other documents for the GME (Graduate Medical Education) office related to the Ophthalmology Residency Program (including residents' duty hours).
- Assists the GME office with RRC-specific and other reviews of the Ophthalmology Residency Program.
- Compiles all information required for the resident recruitment process and coordinates the interview process, including interview schedules, meals, and related logistics.
- Coordinates activities and reports between the Ophthalmology Department and the GME office for the National Resident Matching Program.
- Coordinates physician (faculty and residents) schedules, including daily schedules, on-call schedules, and didactics schedules.
- Enters faculty and resident call schedules into AMION.
- Provides administrative support to residents, including but not limited to licensure, certifications, board applications, travel applications, and vouchers.
- Provides backup support to other members of the Ophthalmology Academic Administrative staff.
- Promotes, assesses, and evaluates the educational needs and requirements specific to Ophthalmology.
- Contributes to Key Performance Indicators for the Ophthalmology Residency Program.
- Updates and maintains the Residency Program departmental website.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree plus three years supervisory experience; OR a combination of education and/or supervisory experience to equal seven years.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare or Business Administration.
- Experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Experience providing project management and/or support within an academic program.
- Experience with Resident Review Committee (RRC) and Graduate Medical Education (GME) policies, standards, and guidelines.
- Experience with the New Innovations residency management system.
- Experience with AMiON (on-call scheduling program).
