Position Description

This position is located onsite within the Division of Human Resources, Lubbock, TX, providing high-quality service to employees and applicants by providing assistance with basic questions across Human Resources areas such as recruitment, onboarding, benefits, leave administration, records management, personnel transactions, compensation, and payroll in person, by phone or by electronic communication.

Major/Essential Functions

  • Protect the organization's value by keeping information confidential.
  • Provide high-quality service to employees and applicants by providing assistance with basic questions across Human Resources areas such as recruitment, onboarding, benefits, leave administration, records management, personnel transactions, compensation, and payroll in person, by phone or by electronic communication. Refers customers to Subject Matter Experts as needed.
  • Completes the Off-boarding process for employees.
  • Operate and manage HRIS and ATS systems: inputting data, checking accurate data, troubleshooting and correcting after analysis or consistency edits within said systems.
  • Provide a high standard of customer service to individuals in person or over the phone, ensuring their needs are met, or directing them to appropriate subject matter experts within the department.
  • Work and educate employees, hiring managers and leadership on policy matters concerning recruitment and hiring.
  • Complete special projects and duties as assigned by clarifying project objectives, setting timetables, conducting research, developing and organizing information to completion.


Occasional Duties

  • Assigned as needed.


Required Qualifications

Requires bachelor's degree OR a combination of education and related experience to equal four (4) years.

Preferred Qualifications

  • One (1) year of direct experience as an HR coordinator working in a human resources department within a health care, higher education, or government setting.
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources management, business administration, or other related field.
  • Current SHRM certification or PHR certification.
