Job Description:

We are seeking a Senior Data Analyst to drive strategic analysis focused on identification, evaluation, and execution of opportunities to drive growth and operational excellence for Blizzard games’ success in China.


RESPONSIBILITY

  • Construct the vision for product-wide analysis to find compelling and actionable business insights. Address high level strategic questions through a holistic planning including. clarifying on the question, developing hypotheses, building analytic structure to address the hypotheses.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, marketing, developers and external partners to deliver impactful insights.
  • Scope and perform analyses, provide detailed analytical reports, develop KPIs, and produce self-service dashboards from a massive raw dataset to drive business decisions.
  • Effectively present findings and recommendations to senior leadership and other stakeholders.
  • Analyze player behavior across different game titles, cohorts, and lifecycle stages, and translate insights into clear business recommendations
  • Support product and game ops teams with deep-dive analyses on features, events, economy balance, and live tuning decisions.
  • Partner closely with Product, Game Ops, Marketing, and Commercial teams as a trusted analytics advisor.
  • Build and maintain analytical models (e.g., cohort analysis, funnel analysis, LTV, churn drivers).
  • Identify data gaps and work with data engineering or platform teams to improve data quality and availability.
  • Help define analytics best practices, metrics definitions, and data governance standards.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to automate and scale recurring analyses.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Analytical orientation and strong problem-solving skills, demonstrated by the ability to structure an issue and analyze alternative solutions.
  • Curious, internally motivated self-starter with ability to plan, organize, and establish priorities to manage multiple projects and achieve results.
  • Have the ability to structure a concise, clear presentation of findings, based on large sets of complex data, and effectively present this to any level in the organization with appropriate visualizations.
  • Ability to manage analytical projects from requirement gathering to presentation and reporting.
  • Strong quantitative skills with a penchant for analytical query writing.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of work experience in data analysis, preferably in Gaming, Management Consulting, eCommerce or Entertainment industry.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Experience communicating and advocating with analytical insights to executive-level audiences to inform decision making
  • Proficient in SQL; Adept in at least one visualization tool such as Tableau; R or Python knowledge is a plus
  • Proven track record of influencing business or product decisions through data insights.
  • Strong business acumen; able to frame analysis in the context of commercial and product impact.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a global team.

  • Experience supporting live service games (GaaS) or multi-title portfolios.
  • Experience working with regional partners (especially China) and global stakeholders.
