This position supports Warfighter Simulation Services (WSS) which includes the Missile Defense Advanced Simulation (MDASim) and Missile Defense Space Tool (MDST) programs and will split time between the Northrop Grumman facility and Schriever Space Force Base (SSFB), in Colorado Springs, CO.
This role requires candidates to be onsite daily with very limited remote/hybrid work available.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented professional to serve as the Warfighter Simulations and Services (WSS) Lead System Software Analyst - Level 4. This individual will be responsible for championing data-driven rigor and analytical integrity, ensuring our simulation environments accurately represent complex warfighter capabilities and scenarios. The System Analyst will execute critical Verification and Validation (V&V) processes, conduct in-depth algorithm analysis and benchmarking, and foster a collaborative environment of technical excellence. This is a vital role that will drive the accuracy, credibility, and operational readiness of the entire WSS system-of-systems.
Essential Functions:
- Lead and guide the Analyst team in executing high-fidelity Verification and Validation (V&V), simulation Benchmarking/Anchoring, and complex Algorithm Analysis.
- Research and analyze advanced warfighter simulation algorithms to ensure model credibility, credibility boundaries, and operational realism.
- Understand stakeholders’ requirements and translate them into rigorous analytical plans, ensuring the quality and integrity of all team deliverables.
- Actively work with the team to ensure post-processing, automation, and data visualization tools are effectively integrated and aligned with leadership objectives.
- Work on defined schedules to timely support WSS execution, wargaming, and system-of-systems integration events.
- Work in close coordination with Test Engineers and Integration Leads to ensure simulation models are properly characterized, and V&V results confirm their accuracy and reliability.

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 8 years of related work experience, or a Master's Degree in STEM and 6 years of related work experience, or 4 years of related work experience with a PhD in STEM.
- Direct experience leading or guiding technical teams in simulation analysis, systems engineering, or algorithm evaluation.
- Practical experience with Verification and Validation (V&V) methodologies or simulation anchoring/benchmarking.
- Experience with data analysis and scientific programming/scripting (e.g., Python, MATLAB, R, or C++).
- Familiarity with warfighter simulation frameworks (e.g., MDASim, MDST, AFSIM, EADSIM, JCATS, WarpIV, SPEEDES, or equivalent DoD environments).
- Familiarity with physics-based modeling, flight characteristics, sensors, or mathematical model optimization.
- Must be self-motivated, able to mentor junior analysts, and drive technical tasks in a dynamic team environment.
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% to support business needs.
- Applicants must have a current active in-scope U.S. Government issued Secret Clearance at the time of application which is required to start; with ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance with access to SCI (TS/SCI).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Expertise in data science, advanced statistical analysis, and AI/ML technologies, particularly applied to predictive modeling, simulation optimization, automated data analysis, or cognitive decision-making models within M&S environments.
- Deep background in threat modeling, trajectory analysis, sensor performance, or tactical decision algorithms.
- Mastery of V&V standards (such as MIL-STD-3022) and benchmarking methodologies against live-fire test data.
- Experience in Agile software development methodologies including Scrum and Kanban to manage analyst team backlogs.
- A current active in-scope DoD Top Secret Clearance with access to SCI (TS/SCI).
