As a Software Deployment Lead – Level 3 or 4 your role at Morrisville, NC will be pivotal in supporting missions critical to national and global security. This position is 100% onsite and cannot accommodate telecommute work.

This position will work a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday off.

About our organization: Our North Carolina Software & Digital Engineering department is a mix of software engineers, DevOps specialists, system administrators, DBAs, and network engineers—from entry‑level talent to chief architects. Engineers often serve as informal subject‑matter experts and may assume formal technical‑leadership roles. Career progression into higher‑level technical or leadership positions is strongly supported.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Aiding the Software Change Lead (SWCL) to help coordinate and generate configured builds for test and delivery.

  • Aiding the SWCL in communicating issues and risks pertaining to issues, solutions, and releases.

  • Aiding the SWCL administer of the Software CM tools (including installation, upgrades, and maintenance).

  • Establish and implement procedures to coordinate changes to program data and products.

  • Multi-tasking and completing tasks with a sense of urgency.

  • Be responsible for all deploys and builds throughout highside and lowside environments.

  • Other duties as assigned.

This position is contingent upon the candidate obtaining final clearances and program access(es) within a reasonable period of time as determined by the company.

This position can be filled at either a Level 3 or Level 4.

Basic Qualifications for Level 3:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of relevant professional experience – OR – Master’s degree with 3 years of relevant professional experience – OR – PhD with 1 year of relevant professional experience. Will consider an additional 4+ years of experience in lieu of degree.

  • Requires an active U.S. Government Top-Secret [TS] security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with the ability to obtain and maintain Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) approval/access

  • Must have experience in Python/Linux/Git.

  • Must have excellent communication skills and be capable of presenting technical concepts to a diverse group of engineers.

  • Experience in collaborating within an integrated team of systems, software, and specialty engineers to develop solutions.

  • Experience working with Docker containers and Helm charts.

  • Experience with Kubernetes (K8s)/Docker.

  • Experience with AWS.

  • Experience with Gitlab workflows.

  • Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.

  • Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of relevant professional experience – OR – Master’s degree with 6 years of relevant professional experience – OR – PhD with 4 years of relevant professional experience.  Will consider an additional 4+ years of experience in lieu of degree.

  • Requires an active U.S. Government Top-Secret [TS] security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with the ability to obtain and maintain Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) approval/access

  • Must have experience in Python/Linux/Git.

  • Must have excellent communication skills and be capable of presenting technical concepts to a diverse group of engineers.

  • Experience in collaborating within an integrated team of systems, software, and specialty engineers to develop solutions.

  • Experience working with Docker containers and Helm charts.

  • Experience with Kubernetes (K8s)/Docker.

Preferred Qualifications:    

  • Active TS with SCI access

  • STEM degree

  • Experience in identifying desired capabilities, defining those capabilities, communicating them to a diverse group of developers, engineers, subject matter experts, and users, and generating architectural artifacts to document and manage the achievement of the desired capabilities.

  • Active CI polygraph

  • Experience with Agile development

  • Familiarity with space vehicle ground segment design

  • Experience with Jenkins

Northrop Grumman Total Rewards 

Primary Level Salary Range: $108,800.00 - $163,200.00

Secondary Level Salary Range: $135,800.00 - $203,600.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
