Staff Accountant

We are looking for a Staff Accountant to support core accounting operations for a manufacturing organization in Fort Collins, Colorado. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone with strong general ledger experience who can manage financial records accurately, prepare tax-related documentation, and contribute to reliable month-end reporting. The role calls for a hands-on accounting specialist who is comfortable working in SAP and partnering with internal teams to maintain compliance and financial accuracy.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and post journal entries to maintain accurate financial records and support monthly accounting activities.

• Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate variances to ensure completeness and accuracy in reporting.

• Assist with corporate tax filings and support the preparation of corporate tax return documentation.

• Manage sales tax processes, including reviewing transactions, maintaining records, and helping ensure timely filings.

• Use SAP to process accounting transactions, track financial data, and generate supporting reports.

• Support month-end and year-end close activities by organizing schedules, reviewing balances, and preparing documentation.

• Collaborate with internal departments to gather financial information and resolve accounting discrepancies.

• Maintain organized accounting records and uphold compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in staff accounting or a closely related accounting position.
• Practical experience with corporate tax, including support for corporate tax return preparation.
• Knowledge of sales tax processes and related accounting requirements.
• Strong background in journal entry preparation and general ledger account reconciliation.
• Experience using SAP in an accounting or finance environment.
• Solid understanding of standard accounting principles and financial controls.
• High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities accurately and efficiently.

Compensation

$25.34-$29.34 Hourly
