Staff Accountant

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join a team on a contract-to-permanent basis. This role is ideal for someone who is comfortable supporting core accounting operations, contributing to accurate financial records, and assisting with both payables and receivables activities. The position offers an opportunity to work hands-on with daily accounting functions while using Sage 50 and Excel to help maintain organized, timely financial processes.

Responsibilities:
• Manage day-to-day accounting tasks across accounts payable and accounts receivable, providing added support where needed to keep transactions current and accurate.
• Prepare and record journal entries to maintain complete and reliable financial documentation.
• Reconcile general ledger activity and review account balances to identify and resolve discrepancies.
• Assist with corporate tax-related work, including support for filings and related financial reporting requirements.
• Handle sales tax tracking and documentation to help ensure timely and accurate submissions.
• Use Sage 50 to process accounting transactions, maintain records, and support routine reporting needs.
• Apply basic Excel skills to organize financial data, review account details, and assist with account analysis.

Qualifications:

• Experience in a Staff Accountant or similar accounting role with exposure to both payable and receivable functions.
• Working knowledge of general ledger processes and preparation of journal entries.
• Familiarity with corporate tax responsibilities, including support for corporate tax return activities.
• Understanding of sales tax procedures and related recordkeeping.
• Hands-on experience with Sage 50 in an accounting environment.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel for reviewing, organizing, and tracking financial information.

Compensation

$25.65-$29.70 Hourly
