Purchasing Coordinator
Responsibilities:
• Coordinate the intake of incoming customer orders, confirm receipt, and maintain organized records to support accurate processing.
• Compile digital and hard-copy documentation, including engineering drawings, to assemble complete order packets for planning and production review.
• Support quote preparation by collecting supplier pricing, reviewing cost inputs, and assisting with basic financial analysis.
• Create and issue purchase orders, track supplier commitments, and follow up regularly to ensure on-time delivery and status visibility.
• Communicate with vendors to accelerate open orders when needed and resolve routine purchasing-related delays or issues.
• Submit customer quotations through designated online portals and enter required information into applicable data transfer systems.
• Maintain purchasing documentation and update internal systems to reflect order progress, supplier responses, and material status.
Qualifications:
• At least 3 years of experience in purchasing, order coordination, or a related supply chain support role.• Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to manage details accurately across multiple tasks.
• Proven ability to work independently, take initiative, and remain productive with minimal day-to-day supervision.
• Experience using ERP or similar business systems such as Epicor, JobBOSS, or comparable platforms is highly preferred.
• Background in a machine shop, manufacturing, or industrial environment is strongly desired.
• Working knowledge of purchase order processing, supplier follow-up, and material purchasing activities.
• Comfort using customer web portals and digital tools for quotations, order updates, and data entry.
