Accounting Manager

We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to support key accounting operations for a long-term contract opportunity in San Francisco, California. This role will lead core close activities, maintain the integrity of the general ledger, and help ensure accurate financial reporting in a dynamic environment. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge, hands-on leadership ability, and a proven record of strengthening processes while guiding a small accounts receivable team.

Responsibilities:
• Lead monthly close activities and coordinate timelines to deliver accurate and timely financial results.
• Manage and review general ledger activity, ensuring transactions are properly recorded and supported.
• Supervise two accounts receivable specialists, providing direction, oversight, and day-to-day support.
• Prepare and post journal entries while validating the accuracy and completeness of supporting documentation.
• Perform detailed account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies across key balance sheet and income statement accounts.
• Support financial statement audit activities by organizing schedules, responding to requests, and maintaining audit-ready records.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting workflows, controls, and overall operational efficiency.
• Utilize systems such as NetSuite and Intacct to monitor accounting data and support reporting accuracy.

Qualifications:

• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibilities.
• Strong expertise in month-end close, general ledger management, and account reconciliation.
• Experience supporting financial statement audits and preparing related documentation.
• Proficiency in creating and reviewing journal entries with a high degree of accuracy.
• Hands-on experience with NetSuite, Intacct, or similar cloud-based accounting platforms.
• Ability to manage and mentor a small team while maintaining deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles, internal controls, and financial reporting best practices.

Compensation

$65.00-$70.00 Hourly
