Accounting Clerk

Compensation: $50 to $55 Yearly

Robert Half is currently recruiting for a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to support daily financial and administrative activities for one of our clients in the property management industry in Newport News, Virginia. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys maintaining accurate records, working collaboratively with colleagues and vendors, and contributing to efficient office operations. The position offers an opportunity to strengthen accounting skills while growing within a supportive team environment.


Responsibilities:

• Process vendor invoices, verify supporting documentation, and help ensure payments are completed accurately and on schedule.

• Maintain accounts receivable records by tracking incoming payments, updating account details, and following up on outstanding balances as needed.

• Enter financial and administrative data into company systems with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

• Provide day-to-day clerical and administrative support that helps keep accounting and office functions organized and efficient.

• Assist with bookkeeping-related tasks to support routine financial operations across the organization.

• Partner with team members and outside vendors to resolve questions related to billing, payments, and account information.

• Contribute to assigned projects and other operational tasks as business needs evolve.

Qualifications:

• At least 1 year of experience in accounting support, bookkeeping, or a related office-based finance role.
• Hands-on knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoice handling, and accurate data entry practices.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Office 365 tools.
• Familiarity with Microsoft SharePoint and general comfort working within computer-based systems.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain precise financial records.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills for effective coordination with coworkers and external contacts.
• Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment while remaining dependable and eager to learn.

Compensation

$50,000.00-$55,000.00 Yearly
