Reporting to the Vice Chancellor for External Relations, this position serves as the operational and communications lead for the University's Public Impact portfolio. The position leads systems, data collection and reporting, stakeholder engagement, communications, and storytelling that support Public Impact priorities and works closely with colleagues across External Relations, schools, centers and regional campuses, as well as communications partners, to track progress and steward Public Impact messaging across the University.


Job Summary

Oversees all aspects of planning, design, and execution of large or complex projects. Assists in developing timelines and ensures adherence to deadlines. Manages financial aspects of projects and other administrative duties. Handles external correspondence and drafts reports and other communications.


Essential Functions

Public Impact Strategy and Operations: Serve as the operational lead for the University’s Public Impact portfolio, managing initiatives, cross functional workplaces, and relationships in the service of driving impact for Pitt’s broader publics.

Data, Reporting, and Information Management: Define and oversee data collection campaigns necessary for measuring Public Impact goals in the Plan for Pitt; Maintain and administer systems used to track Public Impact activities and stakeholder engagement; Collect and validate information about Public Impact initiatives contributed by schools, centers, regional campuses and administrative units, using project management software (e.g., Monday.com).

Convening and Network Coordination: Design and coordinate convenings and working sessions that build alignment among efforts and support measurable progress, including developing agendas, presentations and follow-up actions

Communications and Message Stewardship: Develop content and presentation materials that support Public Impact reports, websites, stakeholder convenings, leadership engagement and related communications activities; Maintain and update the Public Impact website, publicimpact.pitt.edu; Collaborate with communications and design partners to advance Public Impact storytelling objectives.
