Finance Manager
Responsibilities:
• Direct the monthly accounting close process and ensure timely, accurate preparation and review of financial results, including performance commentary and variance reporting.
• Oversee manufacturing cost accounting activities such as standard cost maintenance, inventory valuation, and analysis of production-related spending.
• Work closely with plant and operations leaders to track key performance measures, evaluate cost trends, and identify opportunities to improve margins.
• Prepare annual budgets and periodic forecasts, updating assumptions as business conditions, production levels, and financial outlooks evolve.
• Investigate differences between expected and actual material, labor, and overhead costs, then present practical recommendations to management.
• Manage inventory reconciliation efforts by supporting cycle counts, physical inventories, and ongoing accuracy of inventory records.
• Evaluate capital spending proposals for machinery, tooling, and site improvements by assessing financial impact and return on investment.
• Enhance internal controls across financial reporting, inventory management, and manufacturing-related processes to support compliance and accuracy.
• Support financial and operational reporting tools by helping improve system usage and reporting effectiveness.
• Lead, coach, and develop finance and accounting staff while acting as a trusted financial partner to plant leadership.
Qualifications:
• Experience leading budgeting, forecasting, and month-end close activities in a finance or accounting leadership role.• Strong background in financial reporting, variance analysis, and interpretation of operating performance.
• Knowledge of cost accounting principles within a manufacturing setting, including inventory and standard costing concepts.
• Ability to analyze cash flow needs and contribute to short- and long-term financial planning.
• Familiarity with internal controls, inventory reconciliation, and financial process improvement.
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively with operational leaders and translate financial data into business insights.
• Experience supervising or mentoring accounting or finance team members.
• Proficiency with financial systems and reporting tools to support accurate and efficient analysis.
Compensation
