Senior Property Accountant
We are looking for an experienced Senior Property Accountant to oversee financial operations and reporting for our real estate portfolio in Jersey City, New Jersey. The ideal candidate will excel in managing accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial documentation, and supporting the month-end close process. This role plays a critical part in maintaining the financial health and operational efficiency of our properties.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee the month-end close process, ensuring all financial records are accurate and completed on time.
• Manage general ledger activities, including preparing and reviewing journal entries.
• Conduct regular account reconciliations to ensure all financial data is aligned and discrepancies are addressed.
• Handle bank reconciliations and ensure timely resolution of any discrepancies.
• Collaborate with property management teams to provide insights on financial performance and budgeting.
• Prepare detailed financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and company policies.
• Support audits by providing necessary documentation and answering inquiries.
• Monthly reconciliations of CAM and RET expenses.
Qualifications:
• Proven experience in property management or real estate accounting.
• Strong knowledge of month-end close processes and general ledger management.
• 5+ years of experience in property accounting
• Public Accounting experience is preferred
• Familiarity with accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
• Exceptional analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Yardi is preferred
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
Compensation
