Accounting Manager/Supervisor

Compensation: $31.66 to $36.66 Hourly

We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager/Supervisor to support financial operations and administrative effectiveness for a Contract position based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This role is well suited for a hands-on leader who can oversee core accounting activities, maintain business continuity, and identify practical ways to strengthen day-to-day processes. The position will play a key part in guiding financial oversight, coordinating operational support, and helping the organization run smoothly through a period of change.

Responsibilities:
• Lead daily accounting and business operations to ensure accurate financial management and dependable administrative support.
• Oversee grant-related financial activity, including tracking expenditures, maintaining records, and preparing required reporting.
• Maintain fixed asset and depreciation records to support accurate month-end and year-end financial reporting.
• Manage accounts payable workflows, including electronic payments and check processing, while ensuring timely and accurate disbursements.
• Evaluate existing financial and administrative procedures and introduce improvements that increase efficiency, consistency, and control.
• Review workflows, documentation, and internal practices to identify opportunities for stronger operational performance.
• Partner with team members to learn current responsibilities, preserve critical knowledge, and support uninterrupted operations.
• Organize key system access, reference materials, and procedural documentation to strengthen continuity and readiness.
• Provide onboarding and knowledge transfer support to a future team member when needed.

Qualifications:

• Demonstrated experience in accounting, finance, business management, or operational leadership roles.
• Strong knowledge of month-end close, general ledger activity, journal entries, and account reconciliation.
• Experience supporting financial statement preparation, year-end close, and audit-related activities.
• Practical background in accounts payable processing, including ACH transactions and check payments.
• Familiarity with grant administration, depreciation schedules, and fixed asset accounting.
• Ability to assess systems and workflows and implement effective process improvements.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills with a detail-focused approach.

Compensation

$31.66-$36.66 Hourly
