Receptionist

Compensation: $19 Hourly

We are looking for a detail-oriented Receptionist to support daily front desk operations for a contract position based in Richmond, Virginia. In this role, you will create a positive first impression for employees, visitors, vendors, and executive guests while helping the workplace run smoothly throughout the business day. The ideal candidate brings strong communication skills, sound judgment, and a service-oriented approach to handling reception, visitor support, and onsite coordination.

Responsibilities:
• Welcome employees, visitors, vendors, and business guests with a courteous approach that reflects a well-organized office environment.
• Manage front desk coverage during scheduled business hours, ensuring prompt assistance and clear direction for anyone entering the workplace.
• Coordinate visitor arrival activities, including check-in support, luggage handling, and Lost & Found procedures in alignment with site protocols.
• Assist with onsite meetings, leadership visits, and workplace events by preparing rooms, arranging supplies, and helping organize catering and hospitality details.
• Maintain the appearance and readiness of the reception area by monitoring cleanliness, restocking needed materials, and reporting facility concerns when identified.
• Partner with security and workplace teams to support visitor management practices and help uphold building safety procedures.
• Use phone systems, workplace software, and communication tools to respond to inquiries, route information accurately, and complete daily administrative tasks.
• Carry out opening and closing duties, manage routine service requests, and handle assigned operational tasks with accountability and attention to deadlines.
• Contribute to employee engagement activities, special projects, and additional workplace initiatives as business needs require.

Qualifications:

• Experience performing front desk or receptionist duties in a detail-focused office setting.
• Ability to answer and direct inbound calls using a multi-line phone system or switchboard.
• Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with employees, executives, visitors, and vendors.
• Demonstrated ability to stay organized, manage multiple priorities, and remain dependable in a customer-facing role.
• Comfort using standard workplace technology and software tools to complete daily responsibilities.
• Ability to follow established procedures, learn new processes quickly, and resolve routine issues independently.
• Detail-focused demeanor, strong attention to detail, and commitment to providing timely and accurate service.

Compensation

$19.00-$19.00 Hourly
