Tax Sr. - Corporate
Responsibilities:
• Prepare and examine indirect tax filings, including sales and use tax returns, business license submissions, and property tax reports, for various state and local jurisdictions.
• Complete recurring reconciliations of indirect tax accounts and verify that recorded liabilities align with financial reporting and compliance obligations.
• Investigate state and local tax rules, document conclusions in clear technical summaries, and provide recommendations based on applicable guidance.
• Contribute to nexus evaluations, taxability reviews, voluntary disclosure matters, and responses related to tax examinations.
• Assess business activities, transaction flows, and revenue sources to identify filing responsibilities, exposure areas, and opportunities for improved tax planning.
• Review exemption documentation and help strengthen procedures for maintaining accurate and compliant certificate records.
• Support personal property tax reporting by organizing fixed asset information, preparing filings, and assisting with valuation disputes or appeal activity.
• Coordinate audit support by compiling requested records, preparing responses, and communicating with taxing authorities in a timely and effective manner.
• Use tax technology and automation resources to enhance reporting accuracy, improve efficiency, and help manage multiple client engagements within established timelines and budgets.
Qualifications:
• At least 3 years of experience in corporate tax, with significant exposure to indirect tax compliance responsibilities.• Practical knowledge of sales and use tax, property tax, business licensing, and related state and local tax requirements.
• Experience preparing reconciliations and analyzing variances between tax filings and general ledger activity.
• Ability to research technical tax issues and translate findings into organized written guidance and recommendations.
• Familiarity with corporate tax compliance processes, including annual income tax provision concepts and broader corporate tax matters.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple engagements at once.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with accounting, finance, legal, and operational stakeholders.
Compensation
