Staff Accountant
Responsibilities:
• Prepare and record journal entries to support accurate monthly and periodic financial reporting.
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, investigating discrepancies and resolving variances in a timely manner.
• Assist with corporate tax processes, including compiling information needed for filings and supporting related documentation.
• Manage sales tax activities by reviewing transactions, preparing reports, and helping ensure timely and accurate submissions.
• Support the preparation of corporate tax returns by organizing financial data and coordinating required accounting schedules.
• Review accounting records for completeness and accuracy while helping strengthen routine close and reporting activities.
Qualifications:
• Experience in staff accounting with hands-on responsibility for general ledger maintenance and account reconciliation.• Working knowledge of journal entry preparation and the ability to maintain accurate financial records.
• Background in corporate tax matters, including exposure to tax reporting or return support.
• Familiarity with sales tax processes and related compliance requirements.
• Ability to analyze financial information carefully and identify inconsistencies or errors.
• Strong organizational skills with the capacity to manage deadlines in a contract-based accounting environment.
