Bookkeeper

Robert Half is seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper for a company in San Diego, CA. This role is ideal for an accounting professional with experience managing day-to-day financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and supporting overall accounting operations. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and comfortable handling multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Based on general knowledge.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain accurate financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit card accounts, and other balance sheet accounts
• Process invoices, payments, and expense reports in a timely manner
• Assist with payroll processing and employee reimbursement tracking
• Prepare journal entries and support month-end close activities
• Maintain bookkeeping files and supporting documentation in an organized manner
• Monitor cash flow and assist with financial reporting preparation
• Support audits by gathering records and preparing requested documentation
• Respond to vendor and customer inquiries related to transactions and account activity
• Help improve accounting procedures and maintain internal controls

Qualifications:

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of bookkeeping, accounting, or related finance experience
• Strong understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Excellent communication and time management abilities
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities
• Associate degree or coursework in accounting, finance, or related field preferred

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with accounting platforms such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics 365, or similar systems
• Familiarity with reconciliations, accounting controls, and software tools aligned with current hiring needs
