Sr. Accountant

Robert Half is partnering with a great team in South Charlotte who is looking to add a Sr. Accountant to their team. This role will play a key part in maintaining accurate records, analyzing financial results, and helping the team complete close cycles on schedule. The ideal candidate brings strong accounting knowledge, sound judgment, and the ability to work across departments to improve reporting quality and efficiency.


Responsibilities:

• Manage assigned close activities during monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting cycles, including recording accruals, prepayments, and other necessary ledger adjustments.

• Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, investigate outstanding items, and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.

• Analyze income statement and balance sheet activity to explain variances and support accurate financial reporting.

• Develop recurring and on-demand reports covering revenue, expenses, and cost trends for leadership review.

• Partner with finance, accounting, and operational teams to gather accurate inputs and ensure deadlines are met.

• Support special assignments and ad hoc analysis requested by management.

• Recommend and help implement improvements that simplify reconciliations, journal entry workflows, and other close-related processes.

• Work with large volumes of financial data to identify trends, exceptions, and opportunities for stronger controls.


Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.

• At least 3 years of accounting experience, with public accounting exposure considered an advantage.

• Practical experience with month-end close, general ledger accounting, journal entries, and account reconciliations.

• Strong analytical ability with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

• Clear written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present financial information effectively.

• Proven ability to work independently, manage priorities, and follow through on deliverables.

• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
