Attorney/Lawyer
Responsibilities:
• Represent clients suffering from asbestos-related injuries, ensuring their cases are handled with care and professionalism.
• Collaborate with colleagues to prepare assigned asbestos disease cases, working effectively within a team environment.
• Travel extensively, approximately 80% of the time, to meet clients, witnesses, and gather critical information.
• Conduct thorough reviews of records including Social Security, medical, military, and union documentation to support case development.
• Plan and execute depositions of fact witnesses, ensuring all testimonies are accurately summarized.
• Support clients compassionately, adapting to their needs and health circumstances.
• Perform legal research and writing to strengthen case arguments and documentation.
• Maintain organizational skills to manage multiple cases and deadlines effectively.
• Communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing, with clients, witnesses, and team members.
• Stay informed about industrial and medical information relevant to asbestos litigation.
Qualifications:
• Possess 2-10 years of experience as an attorney, with a preference for personal injury or asbestos litigation expertise.
• Hold a license to practice law in Illinois and successfully complete all pre-employment requirements.
• Demonstrate proficiency in legal procedures related to case signups, depositions, and testimony.
• Exhibit strong skills in legal research, writing, and the use of Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel, Adobe, and Outlook.
• Display excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with clients and team members.
• Show compassion and understanding for clients facing serious illnesses.
• Be self-motivated, well-organized, and capable of problem-solving and strategic thinking.
• Adapt to client needs based on health status and maintain a responsive approach to case management.
