About the Role:
CrowdStrike is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager for our Core API and Cloud Provisioning teams. This role oversees critical infrastructure that powers our platform's API gateway (and ‘AI Model Gateway’) services, SKU enablement systems, and service orchestration capabilities. The teams are responsible for managing high-throughput API traffic, implementing AI-driven feature enablement decisions through our AI MCP (AI Model Control Plane), and ensuring seamless audit data ingestion across our cybersecurity platform. The combined teams handle 1+ billion API requests per day while maintaining enterprise-grade security and compliance standards. This is a hybrid position open to candidates near the Sunnyvale, CA area.
What You'll Do:
Lead multiple disciplinary teams (backend, frontend, SDET, DevOps, etc.) across Core API and Cloud Provisioning domains to drive roadmap execution and technical strategy.
Scale our API gateway infrastructure
implement AI-powered SKU enablement and service orchestration workflows
Ensure robust audit data pipelines.
What You'll Need:
BS/MS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience
15+ years of software engineering experience, including 5+ years in engineering management roles
Experience building or maintaining API Gateway infrastructure and traffic management systems
Knowledge of AI MCP (AI Model Control Plane) or similar AI orchestration platforms
Experience with audit data ingestion pipelines and compliance frameworks
Experience with SKU enablement systems and service orchestration workflows
Experience in Golang or similar technologies
Experience shipping high-quality software in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP)
Experience building and maintaining large distributed systems at scale
Solid design and problem-solving skills with demonstrated passion for engineering excellence, quality, security, and performance
Experience working with remote teams while ensuring agility and velocity
Ability to communicate effectively at all levels from executive staff to junior engineers
Hands-on technical leadership combined with strong cross-functional collaboration skills
Bonus Points:
Experience with cybersecurity products
Demonstrated track record of hiring strong engineers
Experience with Golang, Kafka, ElasticSearch, Postgres, Redis, SpiceDB
Familiarity with API Gateway technologies (Kong, AWS API Gateway, Envoy) - helpful for architectural insights
Experience with AI/ML model deployment and monitoring
Knowledge of SOC2, FedRAMP, or other compliance audit requirements
Experience with workflow orchestration and feature enablement systems
Familiarity with authentication protocols (SAML, OAuth, SSO, OIDC, JWT)
