VETERANS OUTREACH & FUNDRAISING ASSOCIATE

Help Build a National Veterans Project

For more than 30 years, Equal Justice America has helped expand access to justice by funding law students and attorneys working with legal aid and civil rights organizations across the country.

EJA has supported thousands of law students, helped launch public-interest legal careers, and built long-term programs serving people who otherwise could not afford legal help.

Now we are looking for a veteran to help build the next phase of that work: a national Veterans Project supporting legal advocates who help veterans facing denied VA benefits, housing instability, financial hardship, and other civil legal challenges.

EJA has supported law students and attorneys working on veterans' rights issues for many years. In recent years, that commitment has expanded significantly through dedicated investments in legal advocacy for veterans.

Over the past 30 years, EJA has built a national community of supporters within the legal profession. We believe there is an opportunity to build a similar community of veterans dedicated to helping fellow veterans in need.

This position begins with outreach and fundraising. You'll speak with veterans, veteran-owned businesses, and supporters across the country, build relationships, and help create a national network of support that will allow the Veterans Project to grow and reach more veterans in need.

The first year of this position will be devoted to outreach and fundraising. The successful candidate will help build the Veterans Project one conversation, one donor, and one relationship at a time.

The ideal candidate is:

• A U.S. military veteran

• A strong communicator

• Comfortable speaking with people by phone

• Self-motivated and entrepreneurial

• Interested in helping build something meaningful

• Excited by the opportunity to grow with a developing program

Fundraising, sales, recruiting, business development, nonprofit, or outreach experience is helpful but not required.

Full-time. Remote. Starting salary of $40,000 plus performance-based bonuses.

We are looking for someone who embraces the challenge of building something from the ground up and wants to play a meaningful role in its future growth.

As the Veterans Project grows, the person who helps build its initial donor base will have opportunities for increasing responsibility, leadership, and compensation.

To apply, please submit a resume, cover letter, and references to [email protected].

In your cover letter, please tell us about your military background, your professional experience, and why this opportunity interests you.
