A Research Instructor position in the Department of Pharmacology and Chemical Biology at the University of Pittsburgh is immediately available in the laboratory of Dr. Cheng Zhang. Research in the Zhang laboratory centers on structure and pharmacology of G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs). The position will investigate the allosteric modulation of GPCRs and to develop novel GPCR allosteric modulators. Approaches include GPCR expression and purification, cell-based signaling assays, and cryo-EM. The long-term goal is to translate mechanisms into novel therapeutics. The incumbent will be encouraged to apply for grants and develop an emerging, complementary research program.
Candidates should have 5+ years of postdoctoral research experience, a strong publication record, and demonstrated expertise in protein biochemistry and structural biology, along with excellent written and oral communication skills.
