The Department of Cell Biology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine seeks candidates for a full-time faculty position at the rank of Research Assistant Professor (non tenure stream) with the capacity to utilize Drosophila melanogaster as a model organism to deveop a mechanistic understanding of how stress response signaling regulates mRNA translation. The candidate is then expected to leverage the resulting mechanistic insights to determine how this sginaling pathway supports physiological processes including metabolic tissue function and cell migration.

Successful candidates will join an interactive, interdisciplinary group of faculty, students and fellows, and enjoy access to the state-of-the-art equipment and facilities at the University of Pittsburgh. Candidates must hold a Ph.D. or an equivalent degree in the field of Cell Biology/Genetics/Molecular Biology/Biochemistry. The candidate will have a strong track record of accomplishment from Ph.D. work plus an additional 3-5 years of post-doctoral experience in one or more of these disciplines.
