ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The Electronics Technician Maintenance II applies technical knowledge to solve complex problems that typically cannot be solved solely by referencing manufacturers’ manuals or similar documents. Examples of such problems include determining the location of a data fault in a signal flow of various video or data processing equipment. Work typically requires an understanding of the signal flow of video/data, exercising independent judgment in performing such tasks as making user interface circuit connections, tracing relationships in signal flow, and using complex computer control equipment. Work may be reviewed by supervisor for general compliance with accepted practices. This position may provide technical guidance to lower level technicians. Will usually be required to provide guidance, training, and work direction to lower level technicians.
GENERAL DUTIES:
- Primary job will be the operation, maintenance, and repair of the video switching/recording systems and GPS tracking systems at the Central Control Facility (CCF).
- Candidate will be required to plan and initiate complex configurations in support of CCF missions.
- Candidate will be required to react swiftly and precisely in response to real time mission configuration changes.
- Applicants with knowledge of video switching/streaming systems, GPS tracking systems, and an understanding of troubleshooting network or data processing systems are desired.
- Experience with Advanced Range Data System or Common Range Integrated Instrumentation System is desired.
- Proficiency in managing infrastructure and manipulating electronic assemblies is preferred.
- The applicant must be able to follow guidelines for securing and handling classified information with keen attention for detail.
- May be required to attend technical support meetings, test planning meetings and mission briefings.
- Must have good communication skills and ability to effectively interact with Test Engineers, government customers, and other contractor personnel.
- Will be required to work overtime, shift-work, weekends, and holidays as required to support missions.
Job Requirements:
OTHER DUTIES: Will perform general housekeeping and other job related tasks. May be required to handle hazardous material/hazardous waste.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Must be a technical or service school graduate in electronics and have two years’ experience as an Electronic Technician.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. Supports E-OMS operational objectives; observes company Quality, Safety, Environmental, Security and Administrative policies; supports Process Improvement.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Duties will typically be performed indoors. Often, mission control room environments are dimly lit.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This position will be subject to substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Must have visual acuity to regularly prepare and analyze data utilizing a computer system. Position requires very little lifting or moving of heavy objects or materials. May require sitting for long periods of time.
