The Civil Foreman is responsible for supervising and coordinating daily field operations for civil construction projects, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications, schedules, and quality standards. This position provides leadership to field crews, coordinates equipment and materials, and serves as the primary point of contact between field personnel and project management



Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Supervise and direct civil construction crews engaged in site development, excavation, grading, drainage, utility installation, concrete work, and related activities.
  2. Plan, organize, and coordinate daily work assignments to meet project schedules and production goals.
  3. Ensure all work is performed in compliance with company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and client requirements.
  4. Conduct daily safety meetings, job hazard analyses, and site inspections.
  5. Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project plans.
  6. Coordinate labor, equipment, subcontractors, and material deliveries to maximize productivity.
  7. Monitor work quality and ensure compliance with project specifications and company standards.
  8. Maintain accurate daily reports, time records, and production documentation.
  9. Identify and resolve field issues and communicate project progress to supervisors and project management.
  10. Train, mentor, and evaluate crew members to promote skill development and safe work practices.
  11. Maintain a professional relationship with clients, inspectors, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned.


Experience:

  1. Minimum of 5 years of civil construction experience required.
  2. Minimum of 2 years of experience in a foreman, lead, or supervisory role preferred.
  3. Experience with sitework, earthwork, utility installation, concrete construction, grading, and drainage systems preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  1. Strong knowledge of civil construction methods, equipment, and industry best practices.
  2. Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and grade stakes.
  3. Thorough understanding of OSHA safety regulations and safe work practices.
  4. Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
  5. Ability to effectively manage crews, schedules, and production goals.
  6. Proficiency in completing daily reports and project documentation.
  7. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  8. Ability to work in a fast-paced construction environment and adapt to changing priorities.

Licenses and Certifications:

  1. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record required.
  2. OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred.
  3. Additional industry certifications are a plus.

Physical Requirements:

  1. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  2. Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, kneel, and lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
  3. Ability to safely access active construction sites and uneven terrain.
  4. Must be able to work extended hours, weekends, or travel as project needs require.

Pre-Employment Requirements:
