JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary/Objective
Under the direction of the Director of Service Management, the Microsoft 365 Developer will assist in the design and delivery of Microsoft solutions to meet business objectives and technical requirements, to create effective knowledge sharing, collaboration and workflow solutions to drive the effective delivery of Burke & Herbert Bank’s programs.
Essential Functions

- Work with the Microsoft 365 Product owner to design and deploy new Microsoft 365 solutions such as Microsoft Teams, Power BI, SharePoint, OneDrive, Power Automate and Forms among others to improve ways of working in the organization.
- Establish and maintain a SharePoint Governance Committee made up of technical and business personnel to develop consensus around acceptable use cases and design standards.
- Enforce design standards and guide content owners as needed to ensure compliance.
- Assist with training and adoption of new Microsoft 365 solutions and processes including delivery and creation of training materials and documentation.
- Provide end user support for incidents escalated from the help desk and resolve system / application issues.
- Explore ways to leverage Microsoft’s Power Platform within the organization based on business opportunities and other technical innovations.
- Work within the Information Technology department to develop, manage and implement the Microsoft 365 roadmap, leveraging new platform innovations as they are released.
- Assist with the migration of content from various sources to Microsoft 365 environment as designed.
- Ensure consistent, efficient, and effective support of operational systems keeping them up to date and aligned with the changing regulatory environment and new technologies.
- Assist with the implementation of new and ongoing update of existing procedures to help ensure the Bank’s conformity to compliance, regulatory, best-practice, and other operational areas.
Other Duties
- Assist as required with the administration of Microsoft 365 and reporting tasks under the purview of the Information Technology department.
- Perform other duties as assigned or necessary for ongoing efficient and effective functioning of the Information Technology department.
Skills/Abilities
- Technical skills and operational knowledge of relevant Microsoft technology including SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, and the apps that make up the Microsoft Power Platform.
- Ability to document existing and desired flows throughout a business process.
- Ability to collaborate with team members at various levels across the organization, including executives.
- The ability to think critically and creatively about projects, processes, and procedures in an effort to problem solve, improve efficiencies, and streamline processes.
- Strong oral and written communication skill to convey technical subjects to non-technical personnel
- Strong critical thinking and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage multiple project efforts under tight deadlines.
- Works well independently.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
This job operates in an office setting, the opportunity to telework is not available. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Office environment with job duties conducted via telephone, face to face meetings, and on the computer.
Physical Demands
This position requires manual dexterity, the ability to lift files and open cabinets. This position requires bending, stooping or standing as necessary.
Travel
Limited local travel may be required for this position.
Education and Experience
- College degree (business/information technology or other related field preferred)
- 3 years of experience developing business solutions with relevant Microsoft 365 technologies including Microsoft Teams, Power BI, SharePoint, OneDrive, Power Automate and Forms
- Good working knowledge of all Microsoft 365 products.
