Maps Credit Union seeks an experienced, strategic, and highly collaborative Senior HR Business Partner (SHRBP) to align people strategies with business objectives. This role serves as a trusted advisor to senior leaders; driving talent, culture, and organizational effectiveness initiatives and solutions that enable business performance. The ideal candidate brings strong business acumen, experience supporting leadership, and the ability to translate strategy into actionable talent solutions.  Additionally, the ideal candidate has well-rounded expertise in workforce planning, performance coaching, compensation analysis, and performance management. The ability to have a proactive mindset, lead through change, and establish trusting partnerships is essential.   


The Senior HRBP position reports to the Chief Talent Officer. The position is based out of the Maps Professional Center in Salem, Oregon and offers a hybrid work schedule of 3 days onsite and 2 days remote per week, with the ability to flex for business needs.  


Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Serve as a business partner to the organization by proactively identifying opportunities and providing people-related strategies and solutions. Establish and maintain collaborative, credible, trusting partnerships with assigned management teams. Provide data-driven insights to inform talent and business decisions.  
  • Provide guidance and input on reorganizations, business unit restructures, workforce planning, and succession planning. Assist in the implementation of these projects. 
  • Administer the company’s compensation plan and job descriptions in partnership with the Chief Talent Officer. 
  • Partner with managers and executives in performance management, including leading challenging conversations and interactions. Work closely with leaders to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention. 
  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues. Conduct effective, thorough, and objective investigations. 
  • Participate in the identification, design and implementation of programs intended to measurably improve organizational, operational, and human capital performance within assigned management teams.
  • Contribute business insights and expertise to the strategic development of human resources initiatives and the development of progressive, business-focused talent management strategies that meet the current and future needs of the organization. 
  • Participate in driving focus on employee engagement, analysis of survey results and successful action planning to develop and maintain an engaged workforce. 
  • Serve as a change management consultant for assigned management teams and provide change management solutions as they work through organizational change initiatives. 
  • Partner with assigned management teams in recruitment strategy.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of employment-related federal, state, and local laws, statutes, and regulations; develop and implement processes, techniques and documentation that minimize legal exposure. Partner with legal counsel as needed. 
  • Enhance job performance by applying up-to-date professional and technical knowledge gained by attending training sessions, reviewing professional publications, and maintaining professional relationships. 
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and related experience. 
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in Human Resources, including resolving complex employee relations issues. 10+ years of experience is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of multiple HR disciplines, including compensation analysis, organizational design and job descriptions, employee relations and investigations, performance management, talent strategy, and applying federal and state employment laws.
  • 3+ years of supervisory or HR Generalist experience with a focus on management coaching and/or employee relations. 
  • HR Certification is preferred (PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP)
  • Financial services industry experience is preferred.
  • Must be bondable.

Starting Exempt Salary Range: $105,000 - $116,000 per year.


Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM. This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule (3 days onsite and 2 days remote each week, with the ability to flex as needed to cover business needs.)
