Pipefitter
POSITION SUMMARY
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs basic mathematical calculations pertaining to the craft such as rolling offsets, cutback of fittings, and takeout between joints and other fits.
- Material estimates.
- Plan the sequence of installation to avoid obstructions and activities of other trades.
- Thread pipe using threading machine.
- Secure pipes to structure with bolt up, clamps, brackets and hangars using hand tools and machines.
- Test piping system for leaks by increasing pressure in pipes and observing gauges attached to pipes for indication of leaks.
- Reads and understands plans, isometrics, arrangement drawings, details, specifications, erection manuals, and/or plans and makes decisions based on measurable criteria.
- Visualizes objects in three-dimensions from plans and drawings.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Basic understanding of rigging to move pipe into proper location.
- Maintains good housekeeping and a safe work area.
- Works safely, encourages others to do so, and complies with applicable health and safety-related rules, regulations, and procedures.
- Follow oral and written directions.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor as needed.
- Must have reliable transportation to/from the job site
- Ability to work independently and follow instructions
- Must be self-motivated and can work well with others
- Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency
- Abilityto performheavy lifting/pushing/pulling of materialweighing 50 pounds
- Ability to squat, crawl, and work in confined spaces
- Minimum age 18+
