The Stauffer Lab (https://www.staufferlab.org/) at the University of Pittsburgh invites applications for a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Fellow to apply behavioral, physiological, and molecular approaches to study the neural mechanisms of complex deliberation and social engagement.

The successful candidate is expected to take a role in ongoing research projects and to collaborate with Dr. Stauffer to establish new lines of investigation. S/he will regularly interact with members of the Stauffer lab and the growing community of neuroscience researchers at both Pitt and Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) including researchers affiliated with organizations such as the Center for Neuroscience at the University of Pittsburgh (CNUP) and the Center for the Neural Basis of Cognition (CNBC). Postdocs can thus interact with numerous labs sharing similar research interests, and participate in neuroscience seminars, retreats etc.

Applicants must have a PhD in Neuroscience, Psychology, Engineering or another relevant field. Applicants must have demonstrated productivity and possess a genuine curiosity of how neural circuits mediate complex thinking. Experience with nonhuman primate behavior, neurophysiology, and computer programming is required. Candidates must be a US citizen, permanent US resident, or possess a US working permit.
