Systems Engineering Technician
Job Description:
MTS Systems Corporation is looking for a hands-on Systems Engineering Technician to support the assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and checkout of complex mechanical and hydro-mechanical test systems. This role is a great fit for someone who enjoys building, problem-solving, working from engineering documentation, and partnering closely with engineering and manufacturing teams.
In this role, you will:
Assemble and configure mechanical systems using engineering drawings, work instructions, BOMs, and manufacturing documentation
Perform system hook-up, tear down, rework, repair, checkout, and customer acceptance testing
Support operational testing to ensure systems meet MTS quality and performance standards
Troubleshoot system issues and partner with engineering to resolve performance or operational concerns
Maintain accurate documentation and communicate needed drawing, BOM, or process corrections
Support continuous improvement by looking for ways to improve quality, efficiency, and cost
What we’re looking for:
Mechanical assembly aptitude and hands-on technical ability
Ability to read and interpret engineering prints, work instructions, and test protocols
Experience in product assembly, R&D testing, hydraulic systems, hydro-mechanical systems, or similar environments preferred
Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills
Comfortable using Microsoft Office and basic digital documentation tools
Ability to work collaboratively with engineering, manufacturing, and cross-functional teams

Compensation Information:
The compensation for this position ranges from $29-$39 dollars an hour based on relevant education and experience.
