Senior Accountant
We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join a manufacturing organization in South Pittsburg, Tennessee on a contract-to-permanent basis. This role is ideal for a hands-on accounting specialist who can support day-to-day financial operations while contributing to an accurate and timely month-end close. The position offers a broad scope across reconciliations, receivables, payables, and general ledger activity, making it a strong fit for someone who enjoys both detail-focused work and problem-solving.
Responsibilities:
• Manage month-end close activities, including preparing and reviewing journal entries and supporting the accuracy of financial records.
• Reconcile bank accounts, balance sheet accounts, and general ledger activity to identify and resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Oversee accounts receivable tasks such as issuing customer statements, following up on outstanding balances, and addressing billing-related questions.
• Support accounts payable processing by reviewing invoices, coding transactions appropriately, and helping maintain timely vendor payments.
• Maintain accurate general ledger records and ensure entries are posted in alignment with accounting standards and internal controls.
• Investigate account variances and partner with internal stakeholders to resolve issues affecting financial reporting.
• Use NetSuite to record, track, and analyze accounting transactions and produce reliable financial data.
• Assist with additional close-related responsibilities and other accounting support functions as needed within the finance team.

Qualifications:
• 5+ years of accounting experience, including meaningful involvement in month-end close activities.
• Strong working knowledge of accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger accounting, and journal entry preparation.
• Demonstrated experience completing bank reconciliations and researching account discrepancies.
• Proficiency with NetSuite or comparable ERP systems in an accounting environment.
• Solid understanding of debits, credits, and core accounting principles.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities accurately in a deadline-driven setting.
• Manufacturing industry experience is preferred or the ability to adapt quickly to a production-based business environment.
