Benefits Coordinator
Responsibilities:
• Administer employee benefit offerings across medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and retirement programs while ensuring accurate day-to-day coordination.
• Lead benefit enrollments, status changes, and annual renewal activities, including the full open enrollment cycle for eligible employees.
• Review and reconcile carrier invoices and premium billings to identify discrepancies and support timely corrections.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for employees by addressing questions, explaining plan provisions, and guiding issue resolution related to benefits and leave matters.
• Partner with brokers, third-party administrators, and insurance providers to assess plan options, service levels, and coverage details.
• Monitor applicable federal, state, and local regulations and help maintain benefit practices, documentation, and processes that align with legal requirements.
• Conduct audits of benefits data, systems, and retirement plan activity to reduce errors, resolve compliance risks, and support required filings.
• Prepare and distribute benefit communications, including updates to plan materials, notices, and employee-facing information for program changes.
• Examine contracts, summary plan documents, and related materials to confirm accuracy, consistency, and compliance standards.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant benefits administration experience; at least 5 years of related experience is preferred.
• Bilingual Spanish communication skills are required for employee support and program administration.
• Working knowledge of employee benefits programs, including health, welfare, retirement, COBRA, leave of absence, and compensation and benefits practices.
• Familiarity with compliance obligations and reporting requirements related to employee benefit plans.
• Strong analytical ability to investigate billing issues, review systems, and resolve administrative discrepancies.
• Experience handling confidential employee and organizational information with a high level of professionalism and discretion.
• Prior exposure to ADP Vantage or similar benefits administration systems is an advantage.
• Ability to work onsite in Commerce, California, Monday through Friday.
