IT Support/ Field Engineer

We are looking for an IT Support/ Field Engineer to provide hands-on technical support and infrastructure assistance for a hybrid environment in New Jersey. This contract-to-permanent opportunity is ideal for a detail-oriented individual who enjoys solving desktop, server, and network issues while supporting end users across both remote and onsite settings. The role combines day-to-day troubleshooting with broader systems support, including work with virtualized platforms and Microsoft-based technologies.

Responsibilities:
• Deliver technical support for desktops, servers, and network-connected systems by diagnosing issues and restoring service in a timely manner.
• Maintain and support core infrastructure technologies, including VMware, Citrix, and Microsoft environments, to promote stable operations.
• Assist end users with operating system issues, device configuration, software support, and general workplace technology needs.
• Respond to incidents in a hybrid work model, providing remote assistance as well as onsite support when needed.
• Monitor and troubleshoot connectivity, performance, and system reliability concerns across user and infrastructure environments.
• Contribute to security-focused IT operations by supporting data protection, file security, and general cybersecurity practices.
• Document technical problems, resolutions, and recurring trends to improve service quality and support efficiency.

Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of experience in IT services, technical support, or IT consulting roles.
• Working knowledge of network administration and infrastructure support, including VMware, Citrix, and Microsoft technologies.
• Ability to troubleshoot PC hardware, server platforms, desktop operating systems, and network-related issues.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• Relevant industry certifications or equivalent technical credentials are preferred.
• Comfortable working in a hybrid schedule with both remote and onsite responsibilities.
• Strong English communication skills with the ability to support end users professionally and clearly.
• Must be authorized to work and be eligible to work in the U.S. without current or future employment visa requirements.

Compensation

$42.75-$49.50 Hourly
