Staff Accountant
We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our clients manufacturing team in Edina, Minnesota. In this role, you will contribute to core accounting operations, support accurate financial reporting, and help maintain strong internal controls across the organization. This position offers the opportunity to work across general ledger activities, analysis, compliance support, and cross-functional finance projects in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly and quarterly basis, investigate variances, and document supporting analysis.
• Assist with period-end close activities by recording journal entries and helping ensure deadlines are met accurately and on time.
• Maintain the integrity of financial data by reviewing general ledger activity and confirming that reports reflect business performance appropriately.
• Partner with finance leadership to support internal control practices, improve documentation, and strengthen compliance with accounting policies.
• Provide timely responses to reporting requests and accounting questions from internal teams, auditors, and other external stakeholders.
• Contribute to the annual audit process by assembling schedules, organizing supporting records, and helping address follow-up questions.
• Offer backup assistance for accounts payable functions, including payment review, employee expense processing, and sales and use tax-related tasks.
• Support finance systems and workflow administration by coordinating journal entry approvals, assisting end users, and helping maintain process efficiency.
• Review Concur expense reports, assist with user setup and training, and help promote accurate expense reimbursement practices.
• Participate in financial analysis, insurance renewal support, inventory-related reconciliation backup, and other assigned projects that improve accounting operations.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.• At least 5 years of accounting experience, ideally within a manufacturing or consumer products environment.
• Working knowledge of general ledger accounting, journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Experience supporting accounts payable activities, expense report review, and sales or use tax compliance.
• Familiarity with tools such as Concur and advanced proficiency in Excel and other business software.
• Understanding of accounting principles, internal controls, and tax-related processes, including corporate and state requirements.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to work effectively across departments.
Compensation
