Payroll Specialist

We are looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to support payroll operations for a team in Dallas, Texas. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone who can step in quickly, work effectively in a hybrid environment, and help maintain accurate, compliant payroll processing. The role includes payroll coordination, reporting, reconciliations, employee data maintenance, and finance-related administrative support.

Responsibilities:
• Process payroll activities accurately and help ensure each payroll cycle is balanced and completed on time.
• Partner with team members to reconcile payroll results, review discrepancies, and generate supporting reports.
• Conduct routine payroll audits to confirm accuracy, compliance, and consistency across records.
• Administer employee garnishments and verify that related calculations and deductions are handled correctly.
• Prepare and review payroll pre-register information prior to final processing.
• Maintain employee data in payroll and HR systems, including updates related to new hires, tax changes, reporting relationships, and document records.
• Provide system support for finance-related tasks such as creating purchase orders tied to invoicing needs.
• Preserve organized payroll documentation and support data integrity across connected systems.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience processing payroll is required.
• Hands-on knowledge of full-cycle payroll and multi-state payroll practices is strongly preferred.
• Experience working with payroll platforms such as ADP Workforce Now, UKG Ready, or UKG Pro is beneficial.
• Proven ability to manage garnishments, including accurate deduction setup and calculation review.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and resolve payroll discrepancies.
• Solid Excel skills are needed for reporting, reconciliation, and day-to-day payroll analysis.
• Ability to assist with payroll audits, reporting, and record maintenance in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation

$26.13-$30.25 Hourly
