Director of Finance
Responsibilities:
• Direct the company’s finance and accounting activities, including close processes, ledger accuracy, management reporting, forecasting, and annual planning.
• Produce timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements, along with analysis that highlights trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Oversee project-based financial tracking such as job costing, revenue recognition, backlog reporting, and gross margin performance across residential construction work.
• Collaborate with leaders in operations, purchasing, and executive management to assess project results, monitor spending patterns, and improve financial outcomes.
• Manage cash planning, working capital priorities, and banking relationships to ensure the business is well positioned for ongoing operations and expansion.
• Strengthen financial governance by maintaining effective internal controls, consistent accounting practices, and reliable reporting procedures.
• Lead audit preparation, support tax and lender reporting requirements, and help ensure compliance with applicable financial standards and regulations.
• Build models and scenario analyses that inform strategic decisions, operational improvements, and long-range planning.
• Coach and develop finance team members while setting clear expectations and promoting accountability across the function.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.• 10+ years of progressive experience in finance or accounting, including leadership of teams or major business functions.
• Background in construction, homebuilding, real estate development, or another project-driven industry is strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated expertise in budgeting, forecasting, cash flow oversight, financial reporting, and variance analysis.
• Strong understanding of job costing, revenue recognition, and project financial performance measurement.
• Experience supporting audits, internal controls, and accounting or financial management systems.
• Proficiency with tools such as QuickBooks Online, Buildertrend, or similar business systems is beneficial.
• Effective communication, leadership, and business partnership skills with the ability to turn financial data into practical recommendations.
Compensation
