Staff Accountant
We are searching for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our client's growing team. This position is well suited for an accounting specialist who is comfortable handling core financial activities, supporting month-end close, and partnering with multiple business functions to keep reporting accurate and timely. The ideal candidate brings a solid foundation in accounting, strong analytical skills, and the ability to manage priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare recurring financial reports and assist with quarterly and monthly reporting activities to support business decision-making.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts, investigate fluctuations, and document findings to maintain accurate financial records.
• Record and post journal entries during the close cycle while ensuring transactions are supported and properly classified.
• Provide accounting support for departments such as IT, Marketing, Human Resources, and Product Development through reporting, forecasting, and balance reviews.
• Manage accounting and reconciliation activities related to employee benefit programs, including self-insurance balances.
• Support reconciliation of landed cost and variance clearing accounts by researching outstanding items and helping resolve differences.
• Assist with intercompany accounting processes tied to multiple locations and ERP-related activities.
• Complete month-end revenue and accounts receivable accounting tasks, including reconciliation of AR balances and related analysis.
• Partner with internal teams to resolve discrepancies, maintain compliance with accounting standards and company policies, and contribute to audits, royalty reporting, system implementation support, and other special projects as needed.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.• At least 1 year of accounting experience, with 1–3 years preferred in a staff accountant or similar role.
• Working knowledge of journal entries, general ledger reconciliations, and month-end close procedures.
• Experience using Microsoft Excel, including formulas and spreadsheet-based analysis.
• Familiarity with corporate tax, sales tax, or corporate tax return support is beneficial.
• Exposure to ERP systems such as Epicor ERP is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and analytical problem-solving skills.
• Background in retail, e-commerce, national retailer environments, or the automotive industry is a plus.
Compensation
