Payroll Specialist
Our client in the technology industry is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to support payroll processing and related accounting functions. This role is ideal for a professional with strong payroll knowledge, excellent accuracy, and the ability to manage sensitive employee information in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process payroll accurately and on schedule for hourly and salaried employees
- Review timekeeping records and ensure payroll data is complete and accurate
- Maintain payroll records, deductions, garnishments, and tax withholdings
- Respond to employee questions related to payroll, pay statements, and deductions
- Reconcile payroll reports and support general ledger entries related to payroll
- Assist with payroll tax filings, year-end processing, and compliance reporting
- Coordinate with human resources and accounting teams on employee changes and payroll updates
- Support audits and ensure compliance with company policies and applicable regulations
- Identify and help implement process improvements to increase payroll efficiency
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of payroll experience
- Experience in the technology industry preferred
- Knowledge of payroll processes, tax withholdings, deductions, and wage laws
- Experience with payroll systems such as ADP, Workday, Paychex, UKG, or similar platforms
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Strong attention to detail, confidentiality, and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or related field preferred
Compensation
