Maintenance Technician

Princeton, NJ 08540, US Full Time
Compensation: $55 to $65 Yearly

We are looking for a Maintenance Technician to support the upkeep and readiness of a residential community in Princeton, New Jersey. This role focuses on completing day-to-day repairs, preparing vacant units for new occupancy, and helping maintain a safe, clean, and well-functioning environment for residents. The ideal candidate brings hands-on maintenance experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to respond effectively to routine and urgent service needs.


8:30-5, M-F


Responsibilities:

  • Handle assigned maintenance requests by evaluating issues, determining solutions, and completing repairs with team lead support when needed.
  • Perform general building upkeep, including basic carpentry, painting, drywall repair, lock work, and minor non-licensed plumbing/electrical tasks.
  • Prepare vacant units for move-in by fixing damage and replacing necessary items.
  • Assist with preventive maintenance to maintain systems and minimize future repairs.
  • Keep the property clean and presentable by removing debris, managing recyclables, and supporting trash disposal.
  • Organize tools, equipment, and materials while assisting with inventory tracking and storage.
  • Maintain accurate records of work orders, purchases, and approved equipment.
  • Take part in the on-call rotation and respond to maintenance emergencies as required.
  • Safely use hand tools, deliver resident notices, and move small tools or equipment between work areas.




Qualifications:

• At least 3 years of experience in property maintenance, facilities support, or a related maintenance role.

• Working knowledge of maintenance planning, maintenance management, and facility inspection practices.

• Ability to perform semi-skilled repairs across multiple trades, including carpentry, painting, drywall, plumbing, and basic electrical work.

• Familiarity with maintenance contracts and general facilities management processes.

• Understanding of applicable safety standards, local building requirements, and quality expectations.

• Ability to maintain organized service records, inventory logs, and purchase documentation.

• Availability to participate in an on-call rotation and respond to urgent repair needs outside standard business hours.
